I can't even.... desk lamp and lousy indoor office lighting, magical polish- two coats with TC, needs another topcoat layer.  Color changing flakies with a drop of holo sparkle.

Lilypad Lacquer Cayman island delight

yep, the lower case is how it's actually printed! LL got it goin' on, folks! I needed one of those "my nails are naked and it's bedtime" manis that would dry fast, not need a bunch of coats and look great. Et voila! A bright teal smooth foil with a bit of holo. Two thin coats. Great wear time with Cult Nails Wicked Fast over.

Party on my Nails with Literary Lacquers!!!

Can't decide which beauty to use first? No problem! Use them all!! Easy two coaters (yellow is three here) for gorgeous, complex, sparkle holo rainbows inside and out. Max bling, easy cleanup. Love love love. Got more compliments on this mani out and about than I have in a long time! Poshe over, nothing dull these holos! (full disclosure- the yellow is more of a flakie finish)

Good Fortune indeed! Colors by Llarowe

Snagged this beauty on a stealth restock- deep teal linear holo, perfect in two coats, the brushes on these are a little moppish for me, so I had more cleanup that I usually do, tiny bit of staining but not as bad as I expected with a blue. Stunning color, indoors and out.

OK, so CbL? What's CbL?

Colors by Llarowe is a line designed by Leah Anne Larowe of www.llarowe.com fame. Restocks of her deeply colored heavily holographic polishes are things of legend, so I set my face as flint and decided to see what the fuss was about. Two hours and six polishes later, I see the light. Well, the rainbows. I wouldn't say these are the best holo polishes EVAH because I don't think they are. They are pretty amazing though, even for two coats I needed (some reviewers seem to get away with one coat)  Here is Obnoxious Annie and Black Gold, Texas Tea with Lippmann Gel Effect topcoat. Application was easy and cleanup a cinch.

Crows Toes One Trick Pony

In the spirit of "branching out" I got a few Not green, Not orange polishes from the darling Kim Snyder at Overall Beauty. (go, see, buy HERE!) Although I do love holos and duo chromes, with my all time faves being the now discontinued Ozotic Mish Mash polishes, I am less that happy always having to use black underneath to bring out all the lovely color changes. BUT indie makers have found the secret of multichromes without needing black undies, and this is a new offering from Crows Toes in the collection One mad crazy summer 2013! Two coats to opaque and deep purple holo that shifts to teal, green and silverish.
Dazzle Dry topcoat.

Yes, I'm wearing pink, and Yes, that means the world is ending

Calm down, it's not ending, at least not today, as far as I know. I am wearing pink for a very good/bad reason- I bullied a friend (sorry Kelly) into wearing pink to a wedding the other day. She wears nothing but blue and I refused to do her nails with blue. Sooooo in solidarity, I dug deep, strained and stretched and found my inner pink- except it's holo and a slightly warm pink. Color Club Miss Bliss, two rainbowific coats under Dazzle Dry.

On a Rainy Day.....You HOLO!

Color Club Kismet, a pale peridot true linear holographic- two thin coats with Poshe over- so darn shiny and rainbow-y. Even my patch job on my ring finger shows, so good base preparation is important. Regular base coat is fine though- no need for aquabase.

Needed a Pick-Me-Up

One of my facebook groups was having a deep discussion about holographic polishes, and I hadn't worn one in a while, so I grabbed my trusty Nubar Reclaim (note to self: get a back up) and did two thin coats over Seche Retain and dabbed a little Enchanted Greetings Earthlings (a salad bar of holo bars, aqua, gold, black and pink glitters in a greenish base) over a couple nails.
Nubar Reclaim is from their 2009 Going Greener collection that is still available from all the usual channels including ebay and amazon. Scrangie did a gorgeous review here that convinced me early on in my polish obsession that I needed the whole thing, so I managed a decent deal for the set. I love them all, but especially as this was my FIRST holo polish, it holds a special place in my heart. AND it's green. win/win. Effortless application, easy clean up, coat of Poshe to cover. (did NOT need Gelous over the glitter!)

Jade Holo Rainbows

When ninjapolish.com decided to carry the intense Brazilian holo polishes from Jade recently, me  being the one that ALWAYS misses the deals, I determined that would NOT happen this time, and with their free shipping, these were less than Sally Hansen Salon polishes from the local drugstore. I started with this

then swatched them to this
then did a quick sponge rainbow mani like this- (one coat of Nailtiques #1 base then 1 coat of the gold, sponged with a painted makeup wedge with gold, teal and blue) Poshe topcoat. it's still a bit sheer, but I'm liking the effect. PERFECT application, thin polish but wonderful brush, no dulling whatsoever with topcoat.

10 To Midnight- Holo Steel

Being a little burned out on chunky glitters, yet nevertheless loving all things sparkly, I was hoping a linear holo would coax the sun out from the rainclouds we've been having here in Florida. Not to be coaxed today, so these pics are taken indoor with flash. Glitter Gal polishes are thick and creamy, they need a spot of thinner after a couple uses, but the brush is perfection and lays all that rainbow goodness down without straying. (read: minimal to no cleanup) 10 To Midnight is a metallic finish steel gray loaded to the gills with holo particles. Two thin coats with Poshe over.

You've all seen this, but it's a Love Myself manicure.

Oh Princess Sabra, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways: application, flawless. (2 coats over NfuOh Aqua Fix base) Color, impeccable. (the green/brown/olive/gold of Tristam's eyes [the maker's cat]and mine too- we peons call it "hazel") Shimmer, multi color. Holo, linear AND scattered. This polish has it all. Office friendly (looks golden from afar) but under halogen and sunlights all the complexities of holos breaks out. :::sigh::: Perfect.
Shown with one coat of Out The Door over, and in varied lights.

Holo Frankens

Been playing with SpectraFlair and the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polishes I got for Christmas- add a little Color Club Worth the Risque to a couple, and little Sally Hansen Nail Prisms to a few others and voila! New colors! Outside shot shows the true color much better, inside with flash shows the holographicness.
