Feeling Fallish

There are a few  lines coming out this fall that are showcasing deep chocolate brown, and I just happened to stumble across China Glaze Call of the Wild in a box. It took three coats to get opaque but I use thin ones, and that last was like pouring melted dark chocolate over my nails! I didn't use a good topcoat so I couldn't get decent pics, but it was glossy and gorgeous. I'm moving this from the box to a drawer! I layered over a thin coat of Hits Hefesto, a sheer silver holo over it. Out the Door topcoat this time.

The Doctor Is In (worn title, I know)

I did too many polish changes this week, I had to get back to orange. I've been waiting to try LynBDesigns The Fires of Gallifrey for some time, and finally did two thin coats over two of L'Oreal's the muse's inspiration (yes it's lower case). The base is a burnt orange with golden shimmer. TFOG has a slightly more pink/orange jelly base with a multitude of glitters, including gold holo hexes, red holo bars, and gold squares. There is a teal shimmer hidden in this polish that my camera could only pick up in the polish brush pic, but it's real and it's there. Next time I wear this I'm skipping the base polish. It was fairly smooth with one layer of topcoat but could really use two.

Another Gorgeous Butter London- Slapper!

I know I've been swatching alot, but these BL polishes are so beautiful I hate to cover them with glitter or art the first time I wear them! This is Slapper, a green-leaning  teal cream that goes on streaky with the first coat, then smooth and opaque with a second, thicker coat. I've had a little chipping but I'm using a different base than normal. I love this color so much. Dazzle Dry topcoat.

Cheeky Chops Cheeky Polish!

Butter LONDON's Cheeky Chops is a not-quite-neon, not-quite-pastel yellow that makes me so very happy! Even with careful application, it took three thin coats (I needed a thicker third coat, I think) Dazzle Dry topcoat. Great way to start the week!

Be Still my heart- Lacquistry's Vegas, Baby!

It's so sparkly I could only bear a couple fingers of this brilliant glitter topper- it has dozens of different colored glitters with every single one holographic! It deserved a gorgeous base- so I used China Glaze Galactic Gray from the newest holo line ChG put out.  As others have pointed out, it's not really gray, more of a dusty brownish-pewter with a reserved but very linear holo effect. The ChG is a very durable holo, unlike many others, probably due to the pigment/additives needed for the rainbows.  HK Girl over, with a layer of Gelous on the glitter first.

Back to my roots- fave colors, orange and green!

Two lovely Barry M Gellys- Mango and Key Line, are the base for 3D dots and accent nails of Glitzology Lemon Crush. Key Lime was perfect in two coats, Mango needed three thin ones. LOVE how shiny and dense these look!. Dazzle Dry base and topcoats.

Another Mani Monday!

Old Skool Holo- GOSH Holographic Hero

I picked the rainiest day in a while to do this as a full mani- sheesh. Silver holos are a finicky bunch. I've had NfuOhs before and even with the Aquabase, they're not the most durable polishes. I was able to get Gosh Holographic Hero before Royal Mail got stupid (thanks Kerrie!) and had only tried it for a few accents. It's obscenely holographic, not the hard super rainbow like the original, or a Layla, but still crazy good. I tried it over Dazzle Dry basecoat because it has the same appearance as aquabase, and it worked very well- two thin coats with no patchiness or dragging. I still think one of the best silver holo comparisons is here although ALOT more have come out since that review two years ago. I've been wearing this for a day with no chips, so I'm pretty happy- I have HKGirl topcoat over.
