I Needed a Happy- Rainbow Nails!

I had some rather jarring news last night, and when I opened my feed and found this I knew what to do. The hard part was choosing the colors, so I went with Deborah Lippmann's 80's Rewind set, just substituting Lara's Theme for the orange in the set, as it's a jelly. Splodging away, and I'm pretty happy with it!

Retro 70's mani with Vintage Velvet and Cordur-Orange on a base of Catwalk Queen. All dense creamy colors that make me happy. Cult Nails Wicked Fast over with a bit of smearing.

Dang. Just dang. Never thought a polish could hold this many colors in one tiny bottle.  Hard to capture them all, but copper, gold, olive, green, teal, blue and all RAINBOWY!! New top 10 fave. I used Butter London PDQ topcoat. No dulling.

Sharing a FAIL to start the New Year!

So, remember when I swore that the best topcoat was the one made for the polish? Hands down, all the time? Well....in the interest of full disclosure, I must moderate that to say "in the absence of nail art". Late last night I spent quite a while painting and dotting to make a fashion statement and BAM! The matching topcoat crapped all over my dots. Thanks Butter London Hardware PDQ, thanks alot. I'll give you another try (maybe!) when I'm not in the mood for artwork. Booooo.

Why hasn't the world ended?

Seriously, I'm wearing a RED for cryin' out loud! (hi sweet Crumpet, made ya smile!) I took a chance on the return of Ninja Polish (now Polish Ninja) and bought a holo grab bag. Naturally there'd be nothing that I would LOVE in it, but the Jade Magia was OK (pretty black holo with a gold shimmer) I have never tried a Dance Legend (Russian brand) so I decided to live large and applied two coats of Optical Illusion with accent nails of the glorious Glitter Daze holo/multichrome flakie Forbidden Fairy Dust. The holo is a beautiful strong linear and the flakies have the same rainbow shimmer. It's OK for a Saturday. :)

Love this combo- the creamy Mustard Barry M with an accent of Lynnderella She Changed Her Spots- holographic, matte, satin and metallic dots in assorted shades of leopard. Clear base with warm golden sparks and tan micro glitter. My happy place.... :)

Throw Back Glitter Topper FUUUUUUUDGE!!! by Darling Diva

I can't find where this is available any longer, but I drag this out every Christmas season, it's a delightful mash of copper and gold glitters of all sizes along with some bright shards and squares as well as hexes of bright colors. A gorgeous mix that works over a couple Zoya neutrals from the second set. Love this combo.
