Dots alot of fun!

Time for pastels- random ones I normally use for nail art, but they seemed kind of ice creamy together- plain white dots tie it all up! Poshe over-

Poor broken pointer growing out :(

MSMD with Color Club Halo Hues 2013

Paulina did a beautiful mani I wanted to try. Here's what inspired me: Triangles  I painted two coats of the CC holos on a plastic bag and set them aside to dry. I only waited an hour because holos dry quickly. The hardest part was picking the polish off the plastic and cutting tiny triangles. Mine weren't small enough so I had to over lap. I only needed one coat of the base, then a layer of topcoat (Deborah Lippmann Hard Rock) then quickly placed a few pieces on each nail- doing them one at a time. I figured a slow dry topcoat was the trick to have time to set the pieces.. One layer of topcoat over everything to smooth, although I will try Seche Vite next time as these are still a little bumpy- I expect the SV will melt the pieces a bit, might be another cool effect!
Sorry for oily fingers and bad cleanup- it was midnight before I finished.

The Holo Queen: Comparison Swatch Sticks

The Holo Queen: Comparison Swatch Sticks: Hi everyone!  I have been working hard to swatch every single holographic polish in my collection on my new swatch sticks.  It is taking for...

Earth Day Mani- Recycled!

Butter London British Racing Green was my first high-end polish and I still love it- it's in my top three green faves. The brush is perfect for my curved nails, rarely do I need to gyrate to get the edges. Gorgeous dark green with a blue tinged shimmer. Smooth and even.  I did a quick 2 coat mani Monday evening, but as is the case with very dark polishes (even using Poshe topcoat) I had a bit of tipwear by Tuesday evening, so I sponged on an untried, Goh Holographic Hero. It's quite dense and I wasn't happy with the effect, so a few dots of BRG and voila! This should last another day or two-

My Happy Mani Color-

Illamasqua Radium is green. Electric, grass green. Temptalia describes it: chartreuse green with yellow undertones and iridescent green and chartreuse micro-shimmer. Gorgeous application, two coats, the shimmer adds that extra oooomph to my favorite nail color for spring. Accent is Utopias Hibiscus, the perfect blend of matte red, orange white green and tiny holographic assorted glitters. I've worn similar combinations before and am sure I will again.
Poshe topcoat.

Guest Post from the adorable Paula!!

So, you know that moment when your nails just scream, “Neon’s! Give me neon’s!”?  Well, that’s what mine did today. Not only did neon’s take the top bullet on my to-do list, animal print decided to come along for the ride.

A friend of mine is having a “Wild Wig, Animal Print” party for her 30th Birthday so, Shana, this is in your honor. I’m going to be dressed to the T with my neon animal print top, skinny jeans, and curly blonde wig. (Pictures to follow)

Thanks mom, for getting all the prints on my nails for the party tomorrow. My nails would be plain or naked without your assistance and I would never want to bring shame to your name for lack of painted nails. As always, you rock, I love you, and thank you again for making my nails look GREAT! Love, Paula

It's Another Tequila Sunrise....

I had to get the taste of pink and purple with pastel glitter out of my mouth  so I dabbed China Glaze Riveting over Cult Nails Feel Me Up. Riveting is a glorious goldfleck orange red from the Hunger Games collection, Feel Me Up is a slight jelly deep yellow that took three thin coats. Ahhhh I'm back to feeling normal! (whatever that is)
HKGirl over.

I'm a Barbie Girl?

I do NOT know what possessed me other than knowing I have a granddaughter due this summer. China Glaze Fade Into Hue and Surreal Appeal accented with Lacquistry Chick-A-Dee-Doo-Da. The slightly grayed lavender is two coats, the pink needed a third but I didn't bother because I was glittering. One coat of glitter-

Chiralty Glory!

I picked up 5 of the darker holos from Chiralty on etsy. I had the feeling from swatches they were going to be dense, scattered holos on the lines of aEngland Dragon and such, there is a linear effect under strong sunlight and halogen though. I used two coats of the olive green Kale with an accent nail of teal Cu2- the application was wonderful, very dense, almost one coat, the color got a bit darker with two though. Dazzle Dry over doesn't mute the effect at all. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I will be getting more of these! Pictures taken under an Ott light.

Sure glad I got my order in before Amanda became a star HERE!

Untrieds- Hits Strawberrific

Not being a pink-red-purple girl I realized after about 300 polishes I didn't have any in those colors, so I ventured into that unknown territory with some mini polishes. One of them was Hits Strawberrific from DandRApothecary on etsy, found here. They are moving and will be shut down for all of April, so fave her and get notification when she opens back up! I have a dozen or so of her glitters and they are brilliant! I layered a nail or two (two thin coats no dabbing needed) over the poorly names Kiko 348, a dusky grayed olive.
Sorry for the quality of the pics, one day I'll have a camera...
