Hits No Olimpo Hera

The Anti-Valentine Manicure! I don't do pink, rarely even in nail art, for me at least. After the love affair I have going with Hits Demeter, I wanted to try its teal cousin, Hera. Bamm in your face holo yumminess with with color of the sun streaming thru the ocean. I layered it over Revlon Ocean, aptly named, the teal metallic matched Hera's color exactly. And I couldn't wait to try my new Lippmanns,l so I added an accent of ATU over one nail. The Hits has Poshe as a topcoat, the DL has Gelous and Seche Vite.

Needle Drag

Trying some new ideas, saw a pretty mani on pinterest that led to a tutorial, I figured I could do this! My test subject, always a willing participant as long as it does NOT include glitter, even let me pick the colors. Nubar Pink Lily with Revlon Fashionista and OPI Overexposed in South Beach. Seche Vite over.

Ice Cream Nails?

Trying to keep with my theme of Green weekends, yet wanting to use the new Essence duo "Don't Feed the Tiger" glitter (the other end is a pretty yet not unusual gold foil) I layered one coat of the glitter over Revlon Aloof and Edgy from the Edgy Elegance LE that was out briefly last fall. I had read that using the two together made the tiny gold glitter in the topcoat disappear and I didn't want to be guilty of that! These foils are very interesting, these two I kept and gave the others away 1. because the colors weren't anything I would wear and 2. the texture was like trying to paint you nails with whipped cream. The coverage is marvelous, though, I could have used one thick coat and been perfect. This mani has Seche Rebuild under and Seche Vite over.
My kids say this looks like mint chip and cookies and cream ice creams.

Bollywood Nails

So where was I when they passed out this polish? Revlon Ocean is a gorgeous teal metallic that goes on like butter- streaky after one coat, and probably needs three, but I was planning on putting the fabulous Lynnderella Change over it. Cleanup was easy peasy, so I don't think there will be staining. (always a plus with blue) The glitter has a slight golden tint that greened up the Ocean a bit (Ok with me) and I think I will wear this all week if the Gelous and Seche Vite allow.  Base coast is Seche Rebuild.

Malibu Barbie strikes again!

I was grooving on China Glaze's blue-gray Sea Spray and was attempting a PAA Monday Nail Challenge- Fierce Accent Nail and had just picked up this deep teal Revlon named Fashionista I found at Walgreens- I can't find anything on it, not a swatch or review- it was in a display labeled "New Colors" and they all were like nothing I had seen from Revlon before? Anyway, I made a flower with the teal then dotted it with Sonia Kashuk's chrome-on-crack Smoke and Mirrors and decided it was way too plain, so I laid a layer of Essence Edward over it. Seche Clear under and Seche Vite over. If I could wear blue, this would be perfect (and if I was 8 years old!) Good thing I have an understanding boss.

Gold Week Continues

with Revlon Golden Charm from the Masquerade Collection. A light golden pewter foil, it applied over Orly Bonder with the typical foil application I've come to know and dread: like pushing whipped cream all over my nails. These foils are fluffy, as though they've been put through a blender. Patchy after one coat, two seemed to cover, I would have done three if I wasn't adding glitter. Bits of Milani Gems, heavy coat of Gelous then Essie Matte About You (the last  pic)
