Feeling Like Summer Won't Leave

Illamasqua is a grass green (acidic lime on the website) with a shimmer finish. Three coats were needed for opacity, but the polish flows well and the brush is perfection. After a day I dressed it up with some spots and flowers. Wearing this for three days now and it makes me happy! This shade of green is really my happy place.

My New Favorite Polish! Nerdlacquer's Purely Logical

It WOULD have to be an indie polish, nerdlacquer to be precise. Most people get theirs from etsy, ninjapolish.com or thinkgeek.com. I was gifted this by the wonderful lacquerista, blogger and mommy named Debbie Crumpet (shout out to Beth!) She raved over it but was not happy with the way it looked on her and I was only too happy to let her pitch it across the ocean to me! Nerdlacquers are one of the few etsy/indie polishes that are opaque in their own rights. Three thin coats and some Gelous and Seche Vite and this is smooth as glass. I was surprised it was not lumpier, the thinness and opacity only endear it even more to me. There is so much happening here you need a macro, which I can not provide, but the inventor does here: Purely Logical I have a few of her other polishes and I can HIGHLY recommend them all.

Ombre Mani- Yellow Greens

After much debate with my Birthday club, my SON finally was able to pick the range of yellow greens for an ombre mani I have been wanting to try- I had just received Cover Band's Sticks 'n Stones in the mail and figured it would tie them together- The greens from light to dark:
Sinful Colors Innocent, Sally Hansen Salon Grass Slipper, Orly Fresh, China Glaze Holly Day and Zoya Envy.
Lots of Out the Door and Seche Vite 

PCFC February 29- Magical!

So, I wasn't feeling the whole Monday water marble thing in PaA, nor the "fav lilac or peach" for PCFC so I jumped to Wednesday-Unicorn Magic- make your mani magical! I just recently swapped  a lovely German lady for three Essence duos- Colours3 and decided the deep green "Walk in the Park" with the topper "Stopping for Ice Cream" was pretty magical- nice opacity- two coats with very very little drag, the topper is a bit chunky, miniscule pastel glitters with small shimmering white flakes-but layered over the already shimmering base it seemed kinda magical. But wait! There's more! Being the fortunate owner of the tiny bit of heaven known as MaxFactor Fantasy Fire, I put two coats of that over a couple accent nails and poof! Unicorn magic! Seche Vite over but the shrinkage is abominable.

You've all seen this before but...

My dad owned an MG Midget in British Racing Green and I have been lemming this from butter london since it came out....SOOOO when it was half price I got mine! And it looks EXACTLY like the finish of his car. Great memories of careening around corners and down mountains in northern Jersey and whizzing around taxis and pedestrians in NYC in that car. We always buckled up, (back in those days, nobody did) because if we hit a bump, you'd go flying out of your seat if the top was down. There's a funny story about the windshield wipers too...maybe for another day!

Early Days Sponge Mani

Before I knew about clean up, cuticle removers and taking LEFT hand pics, I did this sponge mani with assorted polishes-I remember using glitter at the tips- this thing wore for a week! When you sponge on glitter, the sponge soaks up alot of the base and you get a heavy glitter layer. PITA to remove, but great wear!

Formal Friday! (and green...)

So Paula is supposed to wear something red on Fridays (school color) so I gave her little tuxedos! James Bond on every finger! hehe
And I am sporting the prettiest green (on weekends we were green) so pretty I couldn't do any art over it- maybe after it wears a bit-
