I was grooving on China Glaze's blue-gray Sea Spray and was attempting a PAA Monday Nail Challenge- Fierce Accent Nail and had just picked up this deep teal Revlon named Fashionista I found at Walgreens- I can't find anything on it, not a swatch or review- it was in a display labeled "New Colors" and they all were like nothing I had seen from Revlon before? Anyway, I made a flower with the teal then dotted it with Sonia Kashuk's chrome-on-crack Smoke and Mirrors and decided it was way too plain, so I laid a layer of Essence Edward over it. Seche Clear under and Seche Vite over. If I could wear blue, this would be perfect (and if I was 8 years old!) Good thing I have an understanding boss.

Thanksgiving orange manicures!
From the beautiful Bettina Resort collection, the pure orange Starfish- 2 coats (amazing coverage!) followed by 1 coat each Nubar White Polka Dot and Black Polka Dot. Seche to cover- please forgive tipwear- this is day three, could not get the orange to translate well.
Also, Paula did her own orange mani, SH Salon Complete Kook-A-Mango dotted with Orly Spark and Orly Fresh- even her right hand looks great!

Epic Green Weekend!
Did a group buy on Lynnderella's with a friend and I wound up with 2! eeek! The Glittering Crowd (the on with over 100 different glitters in it) and Funny Money! Green Green Green! So in honor of this stupendous occasion, I did twp layers of the deep dark metallic-yet-not-streaky Nubar Greener with an accent nail of one, yes one (thick) coat of Funny Money. I may never take this off. Go buy Lynnderellas here http://lynnderella-lynnderella.blogspot.com/ on her site (when she opens for sales) or from Leah here http://shop.llarowe.com/ when she gets stock in soon. (second day with a bit of tip wear- oh Seche Vite over Nubar, one coat Gelous and 2 coats Seche over glitter)

Nubar Jewels- from The Prisms Collection
I showed the bottle a few posts ago, now it's time for swatches! My camera phone hates this color, almost as much as I love it- and it is a true one-coater! I put two coats of Fingerprints Haute Taupe under it thinking it would be sparse and glittery, but NOOOOOOOOOOO! This is a grayed-bronzey-coppery shimmer polish with the chunky holo glitter in it- the first pic is inside the next two in full sun- twinkle twinkle!
And contrary to popular reviews, one coat of Gelous and one of Seche Vite made it smooth as silk!
one more pic- inside NO flash:

Ah Butter London British Racing Green!
On Weekends We Wear Green, remember? So I wanted to get a head start on the weekend because I have a special mani planned for the facebook PAA Monday challenge, Plaid. This is two thin coats of the gloriously buttery aptly named butter london (yes lower caps) British Racing Green. My dad had an MG Midget this color when I was a teen. I wore this the first time several months ago when they had a BOGO sale. As soon as I had it on my nails I knew I couldn't put anything over it just yet. But this is the SECOND time, so it got a single layer of CND Jade Sparkles. The blurry pic shows the gold and green shimmery particles pretty well. BRG has it's own slight shimmer but it gets a little lost in the glory of the CND effect. I applied over a coat of Zoya ridge filler and another of Zoya Anchor base. Single coat or Orly Sealon over top (slow drying tc but I didn't want it to shrink)
Alone with no CND effect. GORGEOUS, right?

My 100th Post (well, give or take)
I decided to go with the one polish that started it all a few months back OPI My Private Jet. I love brown and I love rainbows ( I did not have a clue that nail polish could be holographic back then) and I don't even remember where I saw it, but I ran to ebay and purchased a bottle. Come to find out there are are least 3 different MPJs and the true holo ones are rare and hard to find. (see Tracefacephiles review here: http://www.thetracefacephiles.com/2011/07/opi-my-private-jet-comparison.html) But I loved my dud bottle anyway. I figured I would honor my 100th post with the first real polish I bought. I recently pulled it out and added a tiny bit of Spectraflair to it to try to make it into what it should have been, but it wasn't enough to translate from the bottle to the nail, so the later pics are two coats over Orly bonder then two coats Revlon Quick Dry topcoat (MPJ is a bit scratchy) followed by a coat of my homemade holo topcoat. I'm going to add a scootch more SF to this and see what I get one day soon!.
see the rainbow in the bottle?

Ok then, Nubar? check. Brown? check. Glitter? check. Duochrome? check. HOLO?? double check! I would like to introduce you all to Jewel, my "significant other" (for now hehe) I was trolling ebay and there is a seller that has TONS of Nubar for under $8 each (shipped!) I caught a glimpse of this hunk and flipped! I think I can die happy now! here's what Scrangie said about it: " Greyed brown base with warm red-gold flash and chunky holo. Just like Gem but brown, same chunky holo particles, same subtle duochrome flash. Love it love it love it." The picture on Amazon and most websites looks like rock, this is a faceted gem, my darlings! Here is my crappy phone camera, even bad pictures cannot dull the beauty that is Jewel! Swatches soon!

First Layering Attempt- please be gentle!
I wanted to continue the "On Weekends We Wear Green" trend with a twist- I have been inspired by a few lacquer geniuses, especially The Swatchoholic (she has Clarins 230- Unicorn Pee- go see here here http://the-swatchaholic.com/?cat=201) so I used a base of Seche Clear, the lovely duochrome Nubar Wilrdlife (2 coats) one coat of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black (I used Kleancolor instead of Nfu Oh 60 because it has a purple base as opposed to the gray in the Nfu Oh) and then a single coat of CND Jade Sparkle covered with Seche Vite. I hope you can see everything that's going on here, the next time I would use two coats of Chunky Holo Black- the larger flakes are a bit sparse, but I am pleased with it for a first attempt!

Gold Week Continues
with Revlon Golden Charm from the Masquerade Collection. A light golden pewter foil, it applied over Orly Bonder with the typical foil application I've come to know and dread: like pushing whipped cream all over my nails. These foils are fluffy, as though they've been put through a blender. Patchy after one coat, two seemed to cover, I would have done three if I wasn't adding glitter. Bits of Milani Gems, heavy coat of Gelous then Essie Matte About You (the last pic)

Gold Week Continues...
With Milani 3D Holographic in....3D! Again, not one to leave it alone, I swiped the tips with the beautiful L'Oreal Owl's Nest (ps I have an extra to swap) Milani 3D is a bright gold scattered holo with decent coverage- this is two coats, you have to look really hard to see any patchiness- done over Zoya ridge filler then Zoya base- Owl's Nest is a coppery shimmery olive brown with pink and green shinies in it- First pic taken inside, the others outdoors in sun. One Coat Seche Vite left the L'Oreal a bit scratchy so I added a coat of Out the Door.
fuzzy so you can see the rainbow!
