First real attempt at this technique- I did NOT watch youtube videos first, hence the massive fail on a few nails- including newspaper stuck to the pinkie. Go. Watch the videos- do what they say. It works! I have three coats each Orly Gumdrops and CND Guava (which, btw is a dead on dupe- for Essie Tart Deco) Paula has the same colors reversed.

2 birds with 1 stone, err mani
MSMD and Tri Color Challenge! Here is the perfection called Manicurity Emma
I used Orly Green Apple, Orly Orange Punch and China Glaze Spontaneous. I'm not nearly the Master of Dots as is Emma, and I'm not sure this is office friendly, but it was fun! Oh also, with this orange being a jelly, the color mutated a bit over the other colors. Oh, please ignore that my hands are more than 30 years older than hers :)

Lacquistry Witches Warts
Sorry for the dearth of pics- my phone would NOT focus in on all the glittery goodness. Witches Wart is my fave from Jenna's Halloween collection (thank you for making polishes for general consumption once more!!) This went on so perfectly, one easy coat over two coats of Orly Decoded, a dark blue leaning gray. I wanted the tiny holo glitters in WW to stand out without the green and black glitters disappearing into the background- I'm quite chuffed with myself at my choice!

Autumnal but NOT Halloween-
I've used Orly Buried Alive for nail art before but never as a full mani- it took three thin coats but went on easily and shimmers like crazy! It's a medium coppery-brown with gold and red/copper micro specks in it. Then I dabbed on glitter from a new-to-me etsy maker Northern Star Polish in the color called Sunburst, a clear based glitter full of deep yellow-gold, gold holo, orange, neon yellow and a bit of pale pink and silver glitter as well, in hexes, bars tiny hexes and even a few squares. One layer each Gelous then Seche Vite over top. Reminds me of flickering fires- like the one we had last night- our first of the season-

Mermaid Tails- Challenge 8/31
Wasn't into nail art tonight, so I looked for some colors to "interpret" the theme- I layered KBShimmer Shipwreck (fitting name!) over Orly Halley's Comet (why did I almost sell this??) Halley's Comet is a beautiful aqua green fleck foil that's thin and perfect in three coats. Shipwreck is one of the most desired of Christy's creations, and rightly so- a turquoise jelly filled with all manner of blue, green, teal purple and holo glitter with a secret ingredient- tiny copper specks. Stunning.

Whimsical Georgia Peach Fuzz
Three thin coats over a coat of Orly Prelude to a Kiss- Whimsicals are wonderful in that the glitters are very smooth- one nice coat of Poshe and smooth as glass!

Big Hot 4th of July Mess!
I swatched this gorgeous red white and blue glitter from Utopia on one nail over a dusty gold I was wearing and LOVED it! My idea for our PCF Challenge was simply Independence Day so anything goes basically. I started with one coat (yes 1!) of aEngland's beautiful silver Excalibur- no brushstroke, just chrome yumminess. After it dried, I started sponging Orly Grave Mistake and China Glaze Frostbite for the stripes- (I tried China Glaze Poinsettia for the red, but the silver just made it look hot pink) Then I put a heavy two coats of Utopia Stars and Stripes over it and that's when it got messy- placing the glitters around smeared the red and blue- but this stuff is so pretty! It has large shimmery white and matte blue stars, matte blue and white bar glitter, small and medium shiny red hexes, large shiny red square, and for a knockout punch, tiny holo hexes. Love it, making sure I have enough foil and acetone to remove- pictures show a bit of the red staining, sorry- Gelous and Seche Vite over.

Purple Crumpet Fairy Summer Challenge- Summer Sunrise
Base of Orly Prelude to a Kiss, a pale peach that took three coats to become opaque- nice application though. Sponged on various pastels (painted the sponge and daubed until I was ok with effect) Poshe overall.
| Orly is a bit lighter and pinker than my phone captured |

OHHHHHZotic 520!
I won this from my drinking buddy I have never yet met, Debbie Crumpet- I will be doing another post on all my preciouses when a runaway bottle makes it back across the pond, but for now I wanted to shock and awe you with the hidden gem called Ozotic 520. It's a duo or multi chrome depending on where you are- inside it shimmers red gold to bronze. But just step outside or even get near a window, and I don't know if it's the UV rays or what, but colors come out of the woodwork! Outside the shade reveals a deep ruby while the sun coaxes out a new-penny copper with a hint of green around the edges. Stealth polish, this is. I layered two coats over a base of Seche Rebuild and two coats of Orly Liquid Vinyl. Poshe topcoat (which, by the way, an hour later was still dentable- back to Seche Vite for me!)

Green Weekend- sort of
Got my first and only Deborah Lippmanns from a sale at Juicy Couture and have been mulling what to do with them. The lighter metallic from the "Golds" collection is called "Believe" and it's a frosty light silver/pale icy gold with pink and pale teal specks. I used three coats over Seche Rebuild (not because I wanted to- this polish takes some time to dry and I smeared it after 2 coats) then made splotches with Nubar Greener outlined with Orly Goth. Seche Vite over all. Happy Weekend!

China Glaze Meteor Shower over Orly Star of Bombay
One, yes ONE coat of each! First pic is fuzzy so you can see the colors! TC is Gelous and Revlon Quick Dry- still a little bumpy, this needed Seche. I also have a bit of Smurf cuticles from the Orly...
